Kim Kimble is one of the top Celebrity Hairstylists in the industry with an amazing clientele. She’s worked with Beyonce, Rihanna, Iggy Azalea, Mary J. Blige and my special favorite Miss Piggy. She has two salons, launching her second location in Hollywood, California.
During this time she created her Kimble Haircare Line. This multicultural line tackles the needs of textured hair. Her last line, “Bounce Back Curl” made its debut in Sally’s Beauty Supply stores earlier this year. This line is specifically for the curly girls:) The line includes the Bounce Back Curl Conditioner, Shampoo, Liquid Curl Enhancer, Curl Cream and Revitalizer. Each product has a paragon-free formula with added agents to fight frizz.
We had a chance to chat with Kim on her new line and what she has coming up this year.
1. What was the best part when creating the “Bounce Back Curl” line?
“I love the creative process, that’s why I’ve created so many products! I love to see the results of what I’m making after testing them out in the salon or on set. I love creating the smell and packaging and seeing that the the product does what you want it to once it’s finalized. I like to be very hands on and hear people’s response when they try the products. When you’re creating something, you want it to do what it’s supposed to. That is the reward and my inspiration to keep doing it. I love knowing that it’s working.”
2. You have an amazing resume as a Celebrity Hair Stylist. What have you found to be most the common hair concerns?
“Thank you. When it comes to hair concerns, hair growth is always a popular question. I find that some women are having issues from improper use of add-on hair or chemicals and may suffer from hair loss. I’m also often asked about what to combat dry hair.
3. What hair trends can you predict for this year?
“I think that we’ll see more and more women rocking healthy hair. Color and a great cut will still be important but healthy, confident hair will be big.
4. What are your favorite and not so favorite hairstyles to create?
“It’s hard for me to say which style is my “favorite” because I like a lot of different things. I don’t like working on damaged hair – I like repairing it but not styling it. That’s why I create products that are good for the health of the hair. It’s hard work to style dry, brittle hair or when the color isn’t right.”
5. Any advice for ladies that would like take on a bold new look for 2016? Do’s/Don’ts.
“I encourage women to take chances. Before you make the jump, try a wig on and test the look out. You can try on wigs to see how a short haircut will look on you or to test a new color. Also, don’t just go with the trends. Consult with an expert who is good with image making and who will know what works on you.”
6. Do you have any other new projects you would like to share with us?
“Yes, but I can’t just yet:)
Thanks for chatting with us Kim. I guess we will have to wait to see what 2016 will bring:)
Did you watch the Super Bowl? Of course you did 🙂
